Auto Open and Close Main Door
No more getting up early every morning, or late night runs to lock your hens in. The main door automatically opens in the morning and closes at night on the times that you have set via the solar powered control box.
Less Cleaning
Forget needing to spend some of your Saturday every week cleaning your chicken coop. Between the mesh floor where a lot of the poop falls to the floor, being movable and your hens being able to roam, the Chicken Caravan 10 does not need weekly cleaning. Shaking the nesting mats out and giving it a pressure wash every now and then is all that's needed.
Soft Close Sensor Door
The automatic main door has a soft close function that will detect when there is something (like a chicken), in the way and re-open before attempting to close again. It does this until there is nothing in the way and can close fully.
Predator Protection
The floor of the Chicken Caravan 10 features double mesh throughout, aside from the entrance. This is specifically designed to prevent a fox from pulling a hen through the floor if she happens to be roosting there, rather than on the perch, after the door closes at night. We also recommend keeping the caravan inside an electric chicken fence to add an extra layer of protection against those pesky foxes.
Clean Eggs
With the roll-away design and automatic bird excluder gates on the nesting boxes, you get consistently clean eggs. Simply level the caravan using the jockey wheel, and your eggs will safely roll from where they are laid down to a collection area that the hens can't reach. The automatic excluder gates on the nesting box, closes in the afternoon and reopens in the morning, stopping your flock from roosting in the nests overnight. The mats are easy to clean and there is no straw to dig through looking for eggs. This keeps the nesting area tidy and your eggs cleaner, too.
Keep Your Hens Cooler
The Chicken Caravan 10 is equipped with several structural and automated features to manage internal temperatures. A thermostatically controlled extraction fan, located in the roof and accessible beneath the solar panel, actively draws out hot air. Additional ventilation and temperature control are provided by a mesh floor, an insulated roof pocket, and side windows that open to expose ventilation cut-outs. Less Rodents
Keep the rodents at bay from eating your chickens food. There is an automatic cover that closes on the feeder when the main door closes, and re-opens in the morning, when the main door opens. This helps to keep the rodents coming back for a nightly feed.
Food And Water Onboard
No need to top your food and water up every day. There is a large capacity feeder, with the fill point on the roof near the solar panel. The chickens access the feed from under the caravan, where it is kept out of the rain. And there is an easy to fill, large water drum with a bullet drinker attached, on the a-frame. When you move your chicken coop, they go with it.
Mobile And Easy To Move
Easily move the Caravan around your yard or paddock and stop your grass being turned to dirt. It can be pulled by hand with the handle that stows away on the frame, or with a quad bike, lawn mower or even a golf cart that has a 50mm hitch. Surround it with some portable fencing and you can stop your grass from becoming dirt, fertilise your lawn, and have healthier hens that can access fresh grass.
Internal Light
We've included an internal light to extend the day length in winter, this goes on automatically with the time you set on the control box. This feature can be turned on or off, depending on your preference.
Hot Dipped Galvanised Chassis
All of our Chicken Caravans, Skid Feeders and Feed Trailer have hot dipped galvanised chassis. This is 4 times thicker than pre galvanised steel. Why do we include this? Because we learnt very quickly just how corrosive chook manure can be. This will allow your caravan to last much longer against corrosive chook manure.
Solar Powered
Automation
All of the caravan's automated features are powered by an internal battery and managed through a central control box. The battery is continuously charged by a roof-mounted solar panel, making the system entirely off-grid and eliminating the need to run cables to mains power. This user-friendly control box is easily programmable, allowing you to set custom schedules for all automated functions to best suit your local environment and seasonal daylight hours.
How Your Caravan Arrives
Flat Packed (DIY Assembly): To help you save on freight costs, this Chicken Caravan 10 ships securely packed. The package dimensions are 930mm (L) x 890mm (W) x 1680mm (H), with a total weight of 109kg. Assembly is straightforward and takes approximately one hour. Using a standard socket set and spanner set, you simply need to fasten the A-frame, wheels, ramp, and tow holder into place, and then secure the batteries and water drum to the caravan using straps.
Why movable chicken coops?
Moving your chickens regularly is one of the most effective ways to improve both your land and your flock’s wellbeing. Traditional stationary coops often result in bare, compacted ground where chickens overwork the exact same patch of dirt. By adopting a mobile setup, you keep your flock on fresh grass, allowing them to naturally forage for insects and vegetation. As they move, their instinctive scratching gently aerates the topsoil, while their nutrient-dense manure is evenly distributed across the ground. This systematic rotation prevents any single area from becoming overloaded with waste, turning your chickens into a natural fertilizing crew that encourages lush, rapid pasture regrowth and deeply enriches your soil's microbiology. HOT TIP: Order your chickens to arrive at least six weeks after your caravan is scheduled to arrive. This gives you plenty of time to get everything organised and set up, and reduces any stress at this busy time.
We strongly recommend you only purchase your chickens once your caravan has been successfully delivered and assembled.
If the ordering of any such hens or livestock is required to be planned in advance, we strongly recommend that you order your hens to arrive at least 6 weeks after your caravan is scheduled to arrive.

The Chicken Caravan 10 comes delivered 95% assembled, it should only take around an hour to complete the assembly.
No it is not. Here are some ways that you can help reduce the likelihood of snakes.
- Keep the caravan moving. Rather than have it mobile in one spot, keep it moving around your yard or paddock. This will disrupt the environment, as snakes prefer an undisturbed environment this area will be less appealing. Also keep piles and scraps of things clear (think wood or scrap metal piles) away from your coop, as these would be appealing to snakes.
- Keep food covered at night to keep rodents at bay. The Chicken Caravan 10 and 30 both now come with automatic covers that close the feeder off at night with the main door, and reopen in the morning. This is to reduce rodents. Cover any other feed sources you may have and be sure to clean up any spilled food
- Collect your eggs daily. Snakes love rodents and eggs. So collect them daily and take away that temptation
- Keep your grass short. Snakes like to use grass as a way to 'hide' while they move. Keeping it short around your electric fence or caravan can help reduce their amount
